Casa Colibrí was founded by José Manual Hernández in 2006 for the purpose of providing opportunities for the most needy families of Hostotipaquillo’s population.

We are one of 350 Hospitality Houses belonging to the Catholic Worker Movement founded in 1930 by Dorothy Day and Peter Maurin in New York.

About us

What we are looking for

We seek to be recognized in Hostotipaquillo Jalisco and its surrounding area as a quality association that promotes integral family development programs and support, collaborating actively in the improvement of the region and in the development of a supportive community.

We work in the town of Hostotipaquillo (population 3,762), which is located north of the state of Jalisco, Mexico, adjacent to Nayarit and Tequila, one hour from the city of Guadalajara on the Guadalajara Tepic highway.
